Why Dries Van Noten Matters
One of fashion's most-respected designers steps down.
The big fashion news of the week is that designer Dries Van Noten is stepping down from his eponymous label. The Belgian designer launched his line in 1986, and is one of the famed Antwerp Six, a group of six designers who graduated from Antwerp’s famed Royal Academy of Fine Arts in the early 1980s under the tutelage of Linda Loppa, who went onto show in Paris and took the fashion world by storm.
