It's no secret that plenty of Japanese streetwear and fashion brands have made a small fortune through reinterpreting Americana and sportswear through a new lens of novelty. Shinsuke Takizawa’s NEIGHBORHOOD has done that since 1994, when he first established the brand and set up shop in the burgeoning Ura-Harajuku area of Tokyo. It’s one of the earliest Japanese labels to make it a shopping destination for sub rosa streetwear brands alongside WTAPS, Bounty x Hunter, and of course NOWHERE by Jun Takahashi and NIGO.
