Every year the Council of Fashion Designers of America hold the CFDA Awards, the so-called “Oscars of Fashion” where American designers are held in highest regard and rewarded for being the best in their field. There’s also a distinguished award that goes to the International Designer of the Year, honoring a designer who is leading the global fashion conversation. This year’s International Designer of the Year award went to Jonathan Anderson, the Irish designer behind his eponymous label J.W. Anderson, and for ten years, the creative director at Spanish fashion house LOEWE.
