The Curious Case of Benjamin Bixby
Connecting Tyler, The Creator's new line to André 3000's defunct prep label.
Tyler, The Creator quietly launched the first collection in his revamped le FLEUR* label, a more upscale and edited successor to Golf Wang, the younger, more traditional streetwear-tinged brand closely associated with his Odd Future past. The new label’s aesthetic is clearly influenced with how Tyler dresses now, including voluminous cropped trousers, beautiful knitwear, and a tassel loafer collaboration with British footwear manufacturer Solovair, notable for being the original factory where Dr. Martens shoes were first made. The price points are considerably higher to mirror the elevation of the product, whether it’s $450 mohair sweater vests or a $1,100 leather work jacket by Schott.
