In January 2013, Raf Simons’ eponymous menswear line was still going strong. He was only beginning to hit his stride as the creative director of Christian Dior (a time very well-covered in the documentary Dior and I, which you can check out after the paywall).

After making a big splash in the world of fashion with a capital “F,” he then made one of his biggest contributions to the gray area where sportswear, sneakers, streetwear, and high fashion all converge.
