When Spike Lee debuted his first feature film She’s’ Gotta Have It in 1986, the film didn’t make history just for Lee’s directorial prowess, but also his acting chops. It marked the debut of his character Mars Blackmon, a fast-talking, street-smart Brooklyn bike messenger with inimitable style, from his wide Cazal eyeglasses, upturned “BROOKLYN” biker hat, and personalized chain and belt, the icing on the cake was his kicks—a genuine pair of 1985 Air Jordan 1s.
