Ever since the release of Travis Scott’s Utopia, there have been people quick to point out many of the ways in which the Houston-born artist has taken after one of his biggest mentors, Ye. From the ways in which the anticipated album follows in the sonic footsteps of Yeezus, to Ye’s appearance at Travis Scott’s recent Circus Maximus concert—which drew a crowd of 60,000 that was so raucous it created a literal earthquake, with reports that it cased multiple tremors at a 1.3 magnitude, causing local concern.
