Apple's first fashion collab in a decade makes perfect sense.

Apple rarely ever does collaborations, which is why when it debuted the Hermès Apple Watch collection in 2015, it was a pretty big deal. It also subverted the idea of what collaborations are often thought as—limited-edition, hyped-up drops that should sell out pretty fast.

Instead, the partnership between Hermès and Apple continues to this day, where you can still spend a little over a thousand dollars on an Apple Watch with exclusive Hermès digital faces. Or you could also just opt to ball out on one of the pricey Hermès Apple Watch straps.

A decade later, Apple announced its latest fashion collaboration, this time done in partnership with Japanese label Issey Miyake. While the Hermès and Apple collaboration gave the tech company the gloss of a legit luxury house and a brand synonymous with exacting quality, this latest venture with Issey Miyake hits a bit closer to home.
